Creative artists and teachers
2012 submissions

The possibility of teaching your creations, your techniques and especially sharing your talent and knowledge with the participants, will be for you a pleasant chance to create new contacts, to appreciate people of different regions which cannot attend your lessons but is otherwise wishful thinking. It will be for you the moment to live or to relive a fantastic experience. If you want to share this beautiful adventure with us and join a team which loves the artists, here is the information to submit projects for next year.

Read attentively

1- You have to submit an original creation which will break no copyrights, of whom or of whatever it is. All the proposed projects must not been published in any magazine or books and patterns or other type of publication before the holding of the Show « Le Salon des Arts Décoratifs 2012 » (on October 11, 12, 13th and 14th, 2012).

2- During all the weekend of the event, it will be strictly forbidden to sell the patterns of the projects proposed for your workshops, that they are taught or cancelled due to the lack of registration. This is a question of ethics important for the subscribers, who paid to participate in your workshops.

3-If a company wishes that you represent them with a "special event" and that it becomes your main financier we can, at a reasonable cost, propose you one ½ page or 1 page of advertising in the brochure to announce this event. If as well, in a reasonable manner, they would like to offer articles as gifts to the students of your classes and they would have no other material to pay in the workshops. We ask you to contact us for that purpose if the company agrees to participate.

4- The duration of each classes can be between two to eight hours maximum, settled that the projects for a period of eight hours must be considered important technically, to justify this period.

5- The selected pieces for the lessons will have to be present during all the period of the show, if the teacher cannot be present for all the duration, you will have to send us the projects, at the address mentioned below, so that we have it on hand at the latest October 9th, 2012. Even if the class is cancelled due to the lack of students the piece (project) must be presented to the show so that the customers can look at it so they will be inspired to take the different classes the following year with you, whom they do not know, a good way to present you for the future. .

6- We reserve the right to cancel a lesson if there are not enough inscriptions. When a project is accepted, the teacher cannot cancel. A lesson which will have eight registries before August 30th, 2012 will not be cancelled. You will receive confirmation 6 weeks before the show if the lesson will take place or not, so that you can order your material and begin your preparation. We strongly suggest you plan more material just in case more inscriptions are made in the last weeks before the event. We shall inform you regularly of the evolution so you know what to expect.

7- You have to supply to each participant the prepared piece to paint, the pattern, the written instructions and a good picture of the project, it is strongly suggested to paint the details of the step by step in case of lack of time in the end. The cost of the piece including the bases and the preparation will be paid in cash by each of the participants at the beginning of the lesson. We suggest you as much as possible not to exceed $50 for the material, it's more cost efficient for the participants. The cost of the material must be calculated in Canadian funds.

8- The choice of the projects will be determined by a selection committee to allow a varied choice to the participants wishing to be part of the event.

9- Once the projects are selected, you will receive a confirmation of the agreement in the form of a contract in two copies, if you are in agreement with the terms and conditions, you will need to sign the copy and send it to us.

10- If your project is selected, you will have to be available for the period of the Show Le Salon des Arts Décoratifs 2012. Your schedule will be passed on to you in May, 2012.

11- The teachers will be paid according to the standards such as stipulated in the end of the document. (See the board of example for a 4 hours class).

12- The teacher makes a commitment to teach the project at the hour and the place assigned by the people in charge of the show. Transport, food, accommodations and other personal expenses are chargeable to the professor.

13- The teachers will have access to the show free of charge for all the duration, and badges of identification will be handed to you at your arrival.

A- Each of the projects that you will submit must be photographed (clearly 300dpi of a good resolution) and be sent to us, as well as two photos paper color 4 x 6 of good quality. The quality of the representation of your creation in the catalog and on the site depends on the quality of your photos, so please do them perfect.

B- If a company wishes that you represent them with a "special event" we will need a nice and clear picture of you.

C- Following this letter, you will have to fill manually the list of the material necessary for the realization of your project( brush, material, techniques...), be precise in the wanted information. Burn on the CD all this information then the photos of each of the subdued projects as well as a photo of you.

** D- If the material or(equipment) needed are not mentioned in your list I will be capable refusing the workshop that you submit.

The projects that you want to submit must be sent at the following address: « Le Salon des Arts Décoratifs » C.P 275 Chambly, Quebec, Canada, J3L 4B3 before February 15th, 2012, it is important not to exceed this date for the simple reason that the graphic editing of the catalog has to be made several weeks before the publication, the projects will appear in the edition of June, 2011 of the magazine "Coup de pinceau". This is a better way for us to advertise the event.
